Marines with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 214, Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 12, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW), Marine Wing Communications Squadron (MWCS) 18, MAG-12, 1st MAW, and Headquarters Battalion, 3d Marine Division, conduct various training with F-35B Lighting II aircraft during a deployment for training at Misawa Air Base, Japan, June 16 - 25, 2025. MWCS-18, a communications squadron from Camp Foster, Okinawa, and VMFA-214, an F-35B squadron from Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Arizona, deployed to augment MAG-12, 1st MAW, under the Unit Deployment Program, which provides U.S.-based units with operational experience in the Indo-Pacific.
