Robert Coonan, a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear specialist with the 222nd Chemical Company, 104th Military Police Battalion, 369th Sustainment Brigade, New York Army National Guard, speaks about his balance of civilian and military careers. Coonan, from Deerpark, New York, initially enlisted "to help people and do something more," now owns his own fishing tackle shop and works as a fishing boat captain when not serving in uniform.
