Fifteen soldiers from Army National Guard units across the northeastern United States compete in an expert physical fitness assessment and undergo board examinations before a panel of senior enlisted leaders as part of the first day of the 2025 Region I Best Warrior Competition May 20, 2025, at the Edward Cross Training Complex in Pembroke, N.H. The competition, hosted by the New Hampshire Army National Guard, was scheduled to last a week, and tested soldiers' ability to perform at a superior level under stress physically and mentally.
