U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to the 3rd Wing at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson teamed up with the French Army New Caledonia to load and unload an AƩrospatiale SA 330 Puma Helicopter from a C-17 Globemaster III during exercise Croix du Sud, April 27 to April 28. The aircrew, consisting of four security forces officers, two loadmasters, four pilots and three maintainers, flew out from Pago Pago, American Samoa to Noumea, New Caledonia to assist the French in moving mission critical equipment, leveraging the C-17s airlift capacity to rapidly deploy personnel and equipment in a simulated humanitarian exercise. The aircrew and their allies flew out from Noumea to Wallis & Futuna the next day to unload the Puma. (U.S. Air Force video by Airman 1st Class Tala Hunt)
