Soldiers with the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment “The Old Guard” Caisson Detachment conduct maintenance with improved leather and copper tack. The U.S. Army implemented a new caisson saddle design, based on Julie Goodnight’s Cascade saddle, to improve equine welfare and reduce strain on the horses and the Soldiers.
