Nine Army Reserve Soldiers representing different units under the Army Reserve Medical Command hierarchy completed the first two days of this year's AR-MEDCOM Best Warrior Competition, which began on April 16, 2024 and will conclude on April 21, 2024, in Fort McCoy, Wis. AR-MEDCOM BWC is an annual event that brings together competitors to test them on their physical endurance and mental acuity in a variety of combat-oriented events, factored with high fatigue and stress. For Day Zero and Day One, all nine competitors took part in the team-based Leadership Reaction Course and an Army Combat Fitness Test. Moreover, the Soldiers tested their marksmanship capabilities in qualification ranges with a variety of weapons systems - to include proficiency testing on the M17 Modular Handgun System, M16 Rifle, M320 Grenade Launcher, M2HB Heavy Machine Gun and MK19 Grenade Launcher.
Winners of both the AR-MEDCOM BWC Best NCO and Best Junior Soldier titles will proceed onto the U.S. Army Reserve Best Squad Competition on a later date this year.
