Students of Airman Leadership School Class 24-2 from both the U.S. Air Force and the Royal Canadian Air Force conducted a retreat ceremony at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., April 12, 2024. Retreat isn't just about ending the duty day; it's a time-honored tradition that symbolizes respect, unity, and dedication to service. As the national anthem played, Airmen stood tall, rendering a salute as the flag was lowered and folded with precision and reverence. Following the national anthem, a master bagpiper from the Royal Canadian Air Force played a tribute song. (U.S. Air Force video by Senior Master Sgt. Richard P. Ebensberger)
