U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Joseph Biehler, a veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, took command of the New York National Guard's 42nd Infantry Division during a change of command ceremony at the New York National Guard headquarters in Latham, N.Y., Feb. 3, 2024.
Biehler, who previously served as the division deputy commander and commander of the 53rd Troop Command, assumed command of the “Rainbow” division from Maj. Gen. Thomas Spencer.
