U.S. Marines with Maritime Special Purpose Force (MSPF), and Battalion Landing Team (BLT) 1/8, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) conduct visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) training aboard the James River Reserve Fleet and the USNS Narragansett in the Chesapeake Bay, off the coast of Virginia, Oct. 23 to Nov. 3, 2023. The VBSS course teaches Marines with MSPF and BLT 1/8 how to properly conduct vessel boarding procedures and maritime interdiction operations while underway with the 24th MEU.
