PV2 Joseph Veshchebeyev is a first-generation American from Brooklyn, NY. His family is originally from Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine.

Veshchebeyev is currently in advanced individual training (AIT) at Fort Sill, Okla. learning to become a 13M– Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS)/High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) Crewmember.

He spoke of the importance of his position and what it means to be the King of Battle. “The title King of Battle shows how important not only my position is, but even the vehicle behind me (HIMARS) is to the U.S. Army,” said Veshchebeyev. “We are crucial to providing support to the infantry and just all troops.”

He knew that the U.S. Army was the right path after graduating high school and looks forward to serving his country.
