Members of the Trigg Country community and soldiers from Fort Campbell gathered for a memorial service and sign unveiling to honor the soldiers from 6th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) that passed away in a HH-60 Blackhawk crash in March 2023, in Cadiz, Ky., Oct. 23, 2023.
The sign is located on Maple Grove Road in Cadiz, near the site of the crash.
Stan Humphries, Judge/Exexutive, Trigg County, Ky., presided over the ceremony. Lt. Col. Tyler Espinoza, commander of 6th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), and Maj. Garrett Kuipers, commander of Charlie Co., 6th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) presented remarks to those in attendance expressing their gratitude to the Cadiz community, and their condolences to the families of the fallen.
