John Gojmerac, a WWII veteran who served in the 3rd Infantry Division, earned the insignia of Knight of the Legion of Honor for his actions in combat during a ceremony at Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post #7575 in Tonawanda, New York, Oct. 20, 2023. His daughter, Tina Fabozzi, his granddaughter, Angelica Conway, and Jérémie Robert, French consul general of New York, honored Gojmerac by speaking during the ceremony.
