Narration:
U.S. Army Garrison Japan were named the winners of Camp Zama's intramural
sports program, known as the Commander's Cup, for the 2023 season. The
Garrison also won the title for the first time in 2022, making them
back-to-back champions.
In recognition of the Garrison's win, U.S. Army Japan Commander Maj. Gen. JB
Vowell and USARJ Command Sgt. Maj. Jeffery Weaver presented the Commander's
Cup trophy to USAG Japan Commander Col. Christopher Tomlinson.

Narration:
Dustin Perry and Yuumi Imazato, co-captains for team USAG Japan, also
received plaques recognizing them as Most Valuable Players. Between the two
of them, they coached or participated in 17 of the season's 28 events.

The reason I initially participated in a variety of Commander's Cup events
throughout the year was simply because I like to play sports. But then as we
started to win more events I wanted to make sure we stayed in the lead, so I
signed up for events I'd never played before so that we could get
participation points and the Garrison could hopefully win the title again.

Commander's Cup two years in a row.

The Commander's Cup includes a variety of competitive indoor and outdoor
events throughout the year. There are one-off tournaments for events like
dodgeball and Ultimate Frisbee, and season-long sports like softball,
basketball and flag football.
