U.S. Air National Guard members alongside members of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces entertain and teach local Moroccan children while they or their parents await to be seen by one of the many healthcare professionals at the humanitarian civic assistance field hospital during African Lion 2023, June 9, 2023 in Tiznit, Morocco. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the unique partnership between Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces and the Utah National Guard, as part of the U.S. Department of Defense’s State Partnership Program - the first partnership of its kind in Africa. This involves extensive training and relationship building that has led to deeper ties between the FAR and the Utah National Guard at all levels, and it has encouraged even greater overall security cooperation between our two countries.
