African Lion 2023 kicks off with its opening ceremony on June 06, 2023 in Agadir, Morocco. Soundbites with distinguished visitors and members of the U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa in order of appearance as follows: Brig. Gen. Brian Cashman (Deputy Commanding General, SETAF-AF), Lt. Col. Richard Towner (Future Operations Officer, SETAF-AF), Sgt. Maj. Michael Kaluzny (Joint Operations Sgt. Major, SETAF-AF), and, Maj. Charles Turner (Lead Planner for the 4th UK Light Brigade Combat Team Headquarters). Approximately 8,000 personnel from 18 nations will participate in African Lion 2023, U.S. Africa Command's largest annual combined, joint exercise that will take place in Ghana, Morocco, Senegal and Tunisia from May 13 to June 18, 2023.
