Narration:
Maribel Sikes, a youth volunteer at the Camp Zama Library, is there early,
making preparations.
She is the lead organizer for "Story Time," a reading program geared toward
preschool-aged children, and she needs to make sure everything is ready.
Interview: Maribel Sikes, Volunteer
Narration:
Before story time began, Maribel led the children in a group dance session
to get them energized.
This day's reading fell near Mother's Day, so the books Maribel read to the
children centered on mothers, and celebrated them as positive, loving
figures.
After the reading, Maribel brought out arts-and-crafts materials and let
them make a paper crown they could present to their mothers as a gift.
A few of the children commented on their experiences at the Story Time
event.
