U.S. Marines with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s (MEU) Maritime Special Purpose Force prepare to conduct a raid as part of Composite Training Unit Exercise (C2X) aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5), Atlantic Ocean, May 23, 2023. The raid was part of a training scenario testing the MEU’s ability to develop plans using the rapid response planning process to execute complex missions in a contested environment.
