Soldiers of the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) place American flags at headstones during "Flags In” at the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., May 25, 2023. Each year prior to Memorial Day, around 260,000 flags are placed at each headstone in the cemetery honoring the nations’ fallen heroes.
