Humacao, Puerto Rico, Feb.24,2021- Committed to the recovery of areas of great ecological value around the island, FEMA awarded nearly $2.2 million to the Department of Natural and Environment Resources and the Puerto Rico Conservation Trust, known as Para la Naturaleza. Among the Natural ecosystems are: $285,000 for the Efraín Archilla Diez in Humacao, $700,000 for the Cabezas de San Juan Natural Reserve in Fajardo, $650,000 for Cayo Ratones in Cabo Rojo, $544,000 for the Vida Silvestre Iris Alameda in Cabo Rojo and $17,000 for the Medio Mundo Natural Reserve in between Ceiba and Naguabo Municipality.
