Members of the 129th Rescue Wing California Air National Guard and United States Coast Guard participate in a Mass Rescue Operation exercise off the coast of Sonoma County coast, Calif., Apt. 25, 2023. The MRO exercise simulated a distressed cruise ship that suffered an explosion and fire, which resulted in injuries of a large number of passengers and crew. The objective of the exercise was to practice interoperability between different military and local assets to ensure a safe, and well-coordinated rescue of passengers from distressed vessels.
