USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) held a change of command ceremony in the ship’s hangar bay, April 24, 2023, at which Capt. Richard Burgess relieved Capt. Paul J. Lanzilotta as the commanding officer. Ford is in port at Naval Station Norfolk for a continuous planned maintenance availability.
