The USS Hershel ‘Woody’ Williams, a U.S. Naval vessel, dropped off humanitarian assistance supplies to The Ministry of Interior Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD)in Mersin, Türkiye, on Feb. 28, 2023. The USS Hershel ‘Woody’ Williams delivered 113 pallets of humanitarian aid, totaling nearly 40,000 pounds to our ally, Türkiye as part of continued humanitarian support. The operation is taking place in support of U.S. Sixth Fleet, U.S. Naval Forces Europe (NAVEUR), and U.S. European Command as part of the international Turkish disaster relief efforts.
