U.S. Army Capt. Chrystal Reitman is part of the Medical Detachment with the Vermont National Guard working with their State partner Senegal, at the Regional Hospital in Thies. The detachment is performing a Medical Readiness Exercise (MEDREX) with their civilian counterparts at three regional hospitals. Reitman is using her physical therapy skills to assist patients who've suffered injuries or sicknesses. The State Partnership Program is administered by the National Guard Bureau.
