Georgia Air National Guardsmen from the 165th Airlift Wing Aerial Port assisted the crew of a C-17 Globemaster Ill aircraft from the 167th Airlift Wing - West Virginia Air National Guard on Jan. 18, 2023 with an engine running offload (ERO) of cargo which means the cargo was unloaded from the aircraft while engines were still running while on the Air Dominance Center flightline.
This technique is becoming a regular practice as we continue to incorporate Agile Combat Employment into our war fighting strategy. The purpose of EROs is to save time and reduce risk by quickly unloading aircraft in austere environments.
