USCGC Mackinaw (WLBB 30) home-ported in Cheboygan, Michigan, transits to Chicago with 1200 Christmas Trees to be delivered during a ceremony. This annual event is a multi-missioned effort as the crew also works buoys in its area of responsibility and pays homage to the original Christmas Tree Ship, the three-masted schooner Rouse Simmons.
