Contingency Response is being ready for any situation that comes up- and
it's a core AFDW mission. For us, it means being ready should we be called
on in defense support of civil authorities capacity for incident management
or other contingency response missions in the National Capital Region. We
also serve as the air component to Joint Task Force-National Capital Region
and, at times, activate the 320th Air Expeditionary Wing to directly support
or serve as a potential contingency response enabler for National Special
Security Events (NSSEs) like the Presidential Inauguration, State Funerals,
and the State of the Union Address.
AFDW is ready for that no-fail mission.
