Soldiers with the 6th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division operationally controlled by the 1st Infantry Division (1 ID), receive awards for their performance during Operation Hammer 22 at Niinisalo, Finland, Nov. 5, 2022. Operation Hammer 22 was conducted to enhance interoperability with Finnish forces by giving Soldiers the opportunity to learn new skills that strengthen overmatch and lethality. The (3-1 ABCT) is among other units assigned to the 1 ID, proudly working alongside NATO allies and regional security partners to provide combat-credible forces to V Corps, America's forward deployed corps in Europe.
