The 1/172nd Cavalry (MTN) spent time training and qualifying on the new M4 weapons qualification tables. Training has also been revamped to match to new standards, with the training and testing now broken down into six tables: preliminary marksmanship instruction and evaluation, pre-live fire simulation training, magazine and shooting position drills, grouping and zeroing, practice qualification and qualification. The new Army marksmanship M4A1 carbine qualification course of fire is a more complex and realistic evaluation of lethality.
