Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin III meets Soldiers assigned to the XVIII Airborne Corps during an official visit to Fort Bragg, N.C. welcoming the unit and its Soldiers back home following a nine-month deployment to Europe, Nov. 1, 2022. The Secretary of Defense thanked the Soldiers and their Families for their dedication, service, and sacrifice to the nation as well as supporting the NATO Alliance to bolster its eastern flank. The XVIII Airborne Corps is America’s strategic response force, capable of deploying on short notice anywhere in the world by air, land, or sea to conduct unified land operations as an Army,
Joint, or Combined Task Force Headquarters.
