U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Caleb McConihay, 366th Munitions Squadron administrative journeyman, introduces himself as Gunfighter of the Week on Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, Oct. 28, 2022. McConihay is a critical member of the Conventional Maintenance section because he functions as a Crew Chief, Line Driver, Munitions Inspector, trainer and peer group leader; simultaneously. He discovered 271 expired/unserviceable aircraft cartridges and organized the effort to replenish 26 F-15s to sustain daily flying operations. His prowess as a munitions inspector ensured 3,200 countermeasures were assembled in support of the 391FS and 428FS flying schedules. He was key to AMMO’s Munitions Employment Plan test where he trained 4 fellow Airman in the construction of the Munitions Assembly Conveyor which increased readiness and our proficiency posture. His efforts have abated qualification shortfalls and cemented AMMO’s support of the Wing’s TDY/deployment taskings. (U.S. Air Force video by Airman 1st Class Krista Reed Choate)
