    ON CAMP HUMPHREYS WAS NAMED AFTER MSG
    WIGHTMAN, A LIGHT MACHINE GUNNER THAT
    SERVED DURING WORLD WAR 2 AND THE KOREAN
    WAR. HE WAS PRESENT FOR THE D-DAY LANDING
    AND TOOK PART IN THE LANDING AT INCHON
    DURING THE KOREAN WAR SERVING AS A PLATOON
    SERGEANT WITH THE 7TH INFANTRY DIVISION IN
    KOREA. WHILE BEING ENGAGED BY FORCES NEAR
    TWI-GOL KOREA, IN A FIGHT THAT LASTED
    NEARLY A WEEK, WIGHTMAN LED HIS PLATOON
    AND KEPT THEM MOVING TOWARD THEIR
    OBJECTIVE. DURING A DARING PUSH WIGHTMAN
    MOVED OUT OF THE COVER HE AND HIS TROOPS
    WERE BEHIND AND BEGAN TO DRAW FIRE FROM
    HIS PLATOON ALLOWING THEM TO ADVANCE THE
    OBJECTIVE. HE WAS SOON HIT BY MACHINE GUN
    FIRE AND DIED MARCH 9, 1951. HIS SACRIFICE
    SAVED TROOPS AND ACCOMPLISHED THE MISSION
    EARNING HIM THE DISTINGUISHED SERVICE
    CROSS.
