On August 12, 2022, SSC celebrated its first anniversary. It is one of three major field commands of the United States Space Force. The event had an all-call with Lieutenant General Michael A. Guetlein, SSC commander, a coining ceremony, and remarks by Colonel Mia L. Walsh, Space Base Delta 3 commander. The anniversary also featured a STEM event for local children and adults, a cake cutting ceremony, and a unit photo. SSC's geographically separated units were not in attendance physically but they attended virtually. Happy birthday, everyone!
