U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Headquarters and 2nd Brigade Combat Team conduct a division uncasing ceremony at Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base, Romania, July 30, 2022. The uncasing ceremony signifies the official transfer of authority, the start of the mission, and shows the division’s unmatched Air Assault capability, along with our allied partners, in eastern Europe. The 101st (AASLT) is deployed as part of V Corps, America’s Forward Deployed Corps in Europe, which works alongside NATO Allies and regional security partners to provide combat-ready forces, execute joint and multinational training exercises, and retain command and control for all rotational and in the European theater.(U.S. Army video by Sgt.
