U.S. Marines with 1st Marine Air Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force and soldiers from the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force perform a simulated refueling exercise between a U.S. Marine Corps CH-53 Sea Stallion and a Japan Self-Defense Force V-22 Osprey as part of a capability demonstration for Pacific Amphibious Leaders Symposium 2022, Camp Kisarazu, Japan, June 16, 2022. This iteration of PALS brought senior leaders of allied and partner militaries together to discuss amphibious force readiness, expeditionary advanced base operations, intermediate force capabilities, and ways to improve interoperability between partners within the Indo-Pacific region.
