April 9, 2022 marks the 80th anniversary since the forced transfer of more than 80,000 American and Filipino prisoners of war during WWII, infamously known as the Bataan Death March. For most, it is a distant memory kept alive by textbooks. For DPAA personnel it’s more than just a memory. It’s a daily commitment to our fallen comrades as we work with the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial to find and recover the more than 3,200 unidentified service members lost during the war in the Pacific and the Bataan Death March.
