    Volunteers install oyster domes to create oyster habitats at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, Dec. 6, 2021. Florida's wild oyster population has been on the decline, which has been linked to a decline in crab, shrimp, and fish populations as well as damaging the larger fishing economy. This is due to the reduction in fresh water sources, increase in storms, the BP oil spill, overharvesting, and other reasons. has also been linked to a decline in crab, shrimp, and fish populations.
