Capt. Emmanuel Lopez, a signal officer assigned to Charlie Company, 91st Engineer Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division from Fort Hood, Tx., roots for the United State Military Academy football team as they prepare to repeat last season's win against the United States Naval Academy, Dec. 11, 2021. Capt. Lopez is currently deployed to Camp Atterbury, Ind., in support of Operation Allies Welcome. This initiative provides essential support at secure locations outside of Afghanistan. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities in permanent or temporary structures as quickly as possible.
