First-hand account from Ruth K. Campbell, wife of Cpt. James D. Campbell II, Dec. 7, 1941 made at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, Dec. 5, 2021. The “In Their Own Words” series was developed by 25th Infantry Division Public Affairs Office in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. This year also marks the 80th anniversary of the formation of the 25th Infantry Division. Barely two months old at the time of the attack, 25th ID was amongst the first United States Army Division's to see combat in WWII.
