F-35A Lightning IIs assigned to the 354th Fighter Wing arrive at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, in support of Operation Iron Dagger, Dec. 3, 2021. Operation Iron Dagger is a dynamic force employment that allows U.S. forces to be strategically predictable and operationally unpredictable in the Indo-Pacific region. The F-35A’s arrival signals the continuing effort to support the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command’s dynamic force employment concept through Agile Combat Employment which supports the National Defense Strategy effort to conduct training with allies while maintaining global peace and security.
