In an effort to address increased instances of speeding, reckless driving and motor vehicle accidents they cause, the commanding general of Marine Corps Installations West, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, has released a new policy letter announcing adjustments to traffic court proceedings and consequences for unsafe driving. The new policy is just one aspect of "Operation Slow Down," a concentrated effort to reduce speeding and make Camp Pendleton's roads safer. In addition to harsher consequences for speeding and reckless driving, Pendleton leaders are also stepping up traffic enforcement and investing in additional traffic control measures.
