Safety and work-life balance is key to mission readiness. The crew at U.S. Coast Guard Base Portsmouth keeps people first in their missions by providing valuable resources to our members and creating a community that supports our members.

Recently, a local Leadership Diversity Advisory Council (LDAC) unit coordinated a Suicide Prevention Walk at Base Portsmouth. Divisions from across Virginia supported the event, coming together for a worthy cause.

The office of Work-Life maintains Family Advocacy Specialists and Sexual Response Coordinators who are available to the Coast Guard community.
From running virtual outreach programs, coordinating community engagement opportunities, to ensuring the safety of Coast Guardsmen in their region, these professionals are the link for members to have their needs met with the many resources the Coast Guard family have in their wheelhouse.
If you know someone who is struggling, CG SUPRT is available to them 24/7, 365 days a year. Members and their families can call anytime for assistance 855-CGSUPRT (247-8778).
