The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has installed over 32,000 blue roofs as part of its Operation Blue Roof emergency response for Hurricane Ida.
The USACE team will continue to install every valid blue roof request until the mission is complete.
USACE is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency by providing temporary roof repairs to 25 parishes in Louisiana that were impacted by Hurricane Ida when the Category 4 storm made landfall Aug. 29. To date, USACE has installed more than 32,000 blue roofs within 25 parishes. There were more than 34,000 roofs eligible for the program following the Oct. 15, deadline.
