Soldiers from 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell began a two-week training rotation Sept. 18 at the Joint Readiness Training Center in Fort Polk, Louisiana.
During the rotation, Soldiers from Bravo Company. 1-187 Infantry Regiment, “Leader”, secured a mock town and secured a forward movement foothold for 3rd BCT, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).
To secure the town In the training exercise, Bravo Company had to evacuated the local citizens. Soldiers set up roadblocks and checkpoints to control the flow of people into and out of the town. They conducted area security and patrolled the town’s perimeter.
During the rotation they have been taking over multiple objectives to control key terrain to take down the combatant roles players.
Prior to the training the focus of 3BCT was to make sure their Soldier’s were trained, disciplined, fit, cohesive, and ready to win the future fight. This is paramount to the division's readiness are routine rotations.
