YOKOSUKA, Japan (Sept. 17, 2021) Capt. Chase Sargeant, commander, Task Force (CTF) 71, bids fair winds and following seas to Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) after 24 years forward-deployed to U.S. 7th Fleet. McCain is scheduled to join U.S. 3rd Fleet, which leads naval forces in the Indo-Pacific and provides the realistic, relevant training necessary for an effective global Navy.
