Airmen came together to honor the lives that were taken in the 9/11 terrorist attacks during a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, September 10, 2021. As part of the ceremony, former New York Deputy Fire Chief, Charles Blaich, recounted the events of 9/11 from his perspective and his involvement as he took command of the recovery efforts for months after the attack.
