U.S. Marines with Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Squadron 3, Marine Rotational Force - Darwin use the RQ-21 Blackjack during Exercise Loobye at Bradshaw Field Training Area, NT, Australia, Aug. 13, 2021. VMU-3’s role in the exercise was to locate a notional enemy target and relay grid points to a fires units. Exercise Loobye is a tangible demonstration that the U.S. Marines and the Australian Defence Force are postured to respond to a crisis or contingency in the Indo-Pacific region in order to maintain regional stability.
