2nd Marine Aircraft Wing was commissioned on July 10th, 1941 and has served the United States of America with honor, courage, and commitment for the past 80 years. From dawn to dawn, hemisphere to hemisphere, forward deployments allow the sun to always shine on the 2nd MAW. The Marines and Sailors of 2nd MAW continue the distinguished legacy that began with 2nd MAW's commissioning in July 1941, commitment and camaraderie are always evident across the wing, especially in times of crisis.
