On April 30th, 2021, SSgt. Joshua Hall was awarded The Air Force Commendation Medal for Heroism during his courageous acts of self-aid buddy care. On September 2nd 2020, Hall was receiving assistance from SSgt. Joseph Pondelli to help move Hall into his new residence, when conversing with the current occupant of his new home, the man suddenly began to clutch his chest and abruptly fell to the ground. Immediately Hall began to attempt to save the man's life and was able to contact paramedics and keep him stable until they arrived to provide first-aid.
