Staff Sgt. Luis Mendoza, assigned to 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, often spends his free time in his woodshop in Żagań, Poland, where he works on various projects. A few of his projects include a podium, a 1st Cavalry Division sign and countless plaques for different Soldiers. Mendoza's passion for woodworking is a direct reflection of his character and dedication to his brigade.
