Sgt. 1st Class Craig Mattoon, a Platoon Sergeant with the 526th Engineer Company out of Fort Stewart, Georgia takes us through the units search and rescue operations, as well as the decontamination process in a simulated nuclear attack during Guardian Response 21, at the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center, May 1, 2021. Guardian Response is a homeland emergency response exercise. Exercise participants receive realistic training that validates their ability to support the Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) in the event of a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) catastrophe.
